Frequently Asked Questions
• May be left in place over wound for up to 7 days
• Forms a gel on contact with fluid, which creates a moist wound healing environment which assists faster healing
• Antimicrobial barrier
• Non-woven dressing of silver impregnated calcium alginate fibre
• Algisite AG is indicated for the management of:
partial thickness and full thickness wounds, arterial, venous and diabetic leg ulcers, pressure sores, post-operative wounds, fungating lesions
• May be used in conjunction with graduated compression therapy for the management of venous leg ulceration
• Algisite Ag may be used on wounds which are infected or are likely to become infected
Not suitable for patients with an allergy to Alginate or Silver and patients undergoing MRI examination.
