Zineryt is a medicine that contains two active ingredients: erythromycin and zinc acetate dihydrate. Erythromycin is an antibiotic that belongs to a group of antibiotics called macrolides, and zinc has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Dosage in adults:

In general, it is recommended to carry out the treatment for 10-12 weeks, during which period in most cases a satisfactory improvement is observed. If there has been no improvement or if it worsens, the administration of the preparation should be discontinued.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- Uncommon side effects (may affect up to one in 100 people): Burning sensation on the skin, irritation, or a slight reddening of the skin, dryness, itching, and peeling.

- Very rare side effects (may affect up to one in 10,000 people): Hypersensitivity reactions (allergic reactions).

Contact a doctor as soon as possible if you experience a severe skin reaction: a red, scaly rash with lumps under the skin and blisters (exanthematous pustulosis). The frequency of this adverse effect is considered to be unknown (cannot be estimated from the available data).

Warning and precautions

Zineryt is preparation for exclusive external use. As with other macrolides, rare serious allergic reactions, such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (PEGA), have been reported.
