Chlorphenamine is an antihistamine with the active ingredient 'chlorphenamine maleate', which is helpful in treating allergic reactions, as well as skin rashes that give irritation.

Chlorphenamine works by blocking a natural substance, known as histamine, that your body creates during an allergic reaction. By blocking another natural substance made by your body called acetylcholine, it helps dry up some body fluids and relieves symptoms such as a runny nose.

Possible side effects:

Allergic reaction which can be severe. Signs include:

• Raised and itchy rash (hives)
• Swelling, sometimes of the face or mouth causing difficulty in breathing
