When will Wegovy be available?

Wegovy received the tick of approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in June 2021 and since then, it has become widely available in the United States by prescription. Here in the UK, the UK’s medicines regulatory authority and the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) gave the drug the green light earlier in 2023. However, Wegovy is yet to be released on the British market. Previously, it was expected to be available by early Spring 2023. But, the popularity of Wegovy’s sister drug Ozempic, has resulted in unprecedented demand for the treatment and Wegovy’s release has been delayed after concerns manufacturers will struggle to meet a similar demand for Wegovy.

How much will Wegovy cost?
