What are the benefits of taking it?

Vipidia tablets are used to lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is also called non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, or NIDDM.

How do I use it and its dosage?

Always use the Vipidia diabetes tablets exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again. Your doctor will prescribe Vipidia along with one or more additional medications to control your blood sugar levels. Your doctor will tell you if you need to change the amount of the other medicines you take. The recommended dose of Vipidia is 25 mg once a day. Kidney disease patients. Patients with liver disease

If your liver function is mildly or moderately reduced, the recommended dose of Vipidia is 25 mg once a day. Side effects & precautions

STOP taking Vipidia and contact a doctor immediately if you notice any of the following serious side effects:

  • Allergic reaction. Symptoms may include: skin rash, hives, trouble swallowing or breathing, swelling of the lips, face, throat or tongue, and feeling light-headed.
  • Serious allergic reaction: skin lesions or skin spots, which can progress to an ulcer surrounded by pale or erythematous rings, with blisters and / or peeling of the skin, possibly with symptoms such as itching, fever, general ill feeling, joint pain, vision problems, burning, sore or itchy eyes and mouth ulcers (Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Erythema multiforme).
  • Intense and persistent pain in the abdomen (stomach area) that can spread to the back, as well as nausea and vomiting, as this could be a sign of inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).

You should also consult your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:

Common vipidia side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):

  • Symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which may appear when Vipidia is administered in combination with insulin or sulfonylureas (for example, glipizide, tolbutamide, glibenclamide). Symptoms may include: tremor, sweating, anxiety, blurred vision, tingling of the lips, paleness, change in mood, or feeling confused. Your blood sugar level may drop below normal, but you can increase it again by eating sugar. It is recommended that you carry some lumps of sugar, caramels, biscuits or sugary fruit juice.
  • Flu-like or cold-like symptoms, such as a sore throat, stuffy or stuffy nose
  • Acne
  • Itchy skin
  • Headache
  • Stomach ache
  • Diarrhea
  • Indigestion, heartburn

Warnings and precautions

  • if you have type 1 diabetes (your body does not make insulin).
  • if you have diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes that occurs when the body cannot metabolize glucose because it does not have enough insulin). Symptoms include excessive thirst, frequent urination, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, and rapid weight loss.
  • if you are taking an antidiabetic medicine called sulfonylurea (for example, glipizide, tolbutamide, glibenclamide) or insulin. Your doctor may need to reduce your sulfonylurea or insulin dose if you take any of these medicines together with Vipidia, in order to avoid an excessively low blood sugar level (hypoglycemia).
  • if you have kidney disease; You can take this medicine, but your doctor may reduce the dose.
  • if you have liver disease.
  • if you suffer from heart failure.
  • if you are taking insulin or an anti-diabetic medicine, your doctor may reduce the dose of the other anti-diabetic or insulin when you take either of them with Vipidia, in order to avoid a low blood sugar level.
  • if you have or have had a disease of the pancreas.
