Etodolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Etodolac is used to relieve pain from various conditions. It also reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness from arthritis.
Etodolac is an anti-inflammation medicine which belongs to the group of medicines named NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). Much like other NSAIDs, it is used to relieve joint pain, stiffness, inflammation and swelling which are common symptoms of arthritis in adults.
Arthritis is defined as the swelling and tenderness that occurs in one or more joints and its symptoms become more severe as a person grows older. The most commonly diagnosed types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
As an NSAID, Etodolac works to reduce inflammation by blocking production of naturally occurring substances that cause inflammation and swelling within the body. This allows the drug to relieve pain caused by conditions such as arthritis, which causes painful swelling and tenderness in the joints.
Etodolac is the active ingredient which belongs to a class of drugs known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAID. They are often used to relieve symptoms such as inflammation and pain. These tablets are formulated in such a way that they release the active ingredient in a slow and gradual manner over a period of few hours providing relief for a long period.
Arthritis can be difficult to manage, especially as it worsens with age and causes discomfort while performing everyday tasks. This anti-inflammation medicine has the ability to alleviate these symptoms caused by different forms of arthritis while reducing inflammation, stiffness and pain in patients.
Etodolac is an oral capsule that is taken to treat short-term and long-term arthritis symptoms. The tablets need to be swallowed whole with a glass of water and should not be chewed or crushed. It is recommended to take the table with or after food.
