• Allevyn Sacral dressings are soft and cushioning which provides excellent patient protection and comfort
• Allevyn Sacral has a profiled cross section, narrowing to micro-thin edges which helps to ensure that the dressing remains securely in place. This also helps to prevent accidental removal by shear between the dressing and clothes and bedding.
• The outer polyurethane layer helps to prevent strike-through of excess exudate from the dressing. Application
To apply ALLEVYN Life follow the steps below:

Cleanse the wound in accordance with local clinical protocol.
Select an appropriate dressing size.
Prepare and clean the skin surrounding the wound area and remove excess moisture. Any excess hair should be clipped to ensure close approximation to the wound.
Using a clean technique remove one of the protector films from ALLEVYN Life and anchor the ADHESIVEesive side of the dressing to the skin. Smooth the dressing over the wound ensuring there are no creases. When positioning ALLEVYN Life Sacrum dressings, place the narrow end of the dressing a minimum of 2cm (3/4in.) above the anal sphincter, then smooth the dressing over the sacrum.
Remove the remaining protector film and smooth the dressing over the remainder of the wound without stretching, ensuring no creases. 
ALLEVYN Life can be used to dress awkward areas such as elbows; the dressing corner lobes can be overlapped when positioning the dressing, ensuring no creasing or stretching occurs.

Do not use Allevyn Sacrum dressings with any oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solution or hydrogen peroxide. These can break down the absorbent polyurethane component of the dressing. There can be cases of irritation and/or maceration of the skin that surrounds the wound. If there is inappropriate use or too frequent dressing changes, especially in patients with fragile skin, this can result in skin stripping. If any redness or sensitivity occurs, please discontinue use.
