01 — What's inside

What do Wegovy tablets contain?

Wegovy tablets contain the active ingredient semaglutide, a medicine that belongs to a class of treatments known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. Unlike the once-weekly Wegovy injection, the tablet has been specifically developed as a once-daily oral treatment, giving patients another way to access the same active ingredient without the need for injections.

1.5 mg 4 mg 9 mg 25 mg

Treatment begins with the lowest strength before gradually increasing over four months until you reach the recommended maintenance dose of 25 mg once daily. This gradual increase is designed to help your body adjust to the medication and improve tolerability throughout treatment.

Treatment begins with the lowest strength before gradually increasing over four months until you reach the recommended maintenance dose of 25 mg once daily. This gradual increase helps your body adjust and improves tolerability throughout treatment. Not everyone progresses at the same pace — at Pharmacy Planet, every dose increase is clinically reviewed to keep your treatment safe and effective for your individual needs.

02 — How they work

How do Wegovy tablets work?

Wegovy tablets work by delivering semaglutide into the body, where it mimics a naturally occurring hormone called GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1). This hormone helps regulate appetite by acting on areas of the brain responsible for hunger and fullness, helping you feel satisfied after eating while reducing food cravings between meals.

✔ How to take them

Unlike the weekly injection, the Wegovy tablet is absorbed through the stomach after being taken on an empty stomach. Because of this, it's important to follow the administration instructions carefully by taking the tablet first thing in the morning with a small sip of water before waiting at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking any other medication. When taken correctly alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, Wegovy tablets can help support gradual, sustainable weight loss.

If you're ever unsure whether you're taking your Wegovy tablets correctly or have questions during treatment, our clinical team is available by telephone, email and WhatsApp to provide ongoing support and guidance throughout your weight loss journey.

04 — How they compare

How are Wegovy tablets different from other weight loss medications?

The biggest difference between Wegovy tablets and many other prescription weight loss treatments is that they're taken once daily as an oral tablet, rather than as a weekly injection. For people who dislike needles or simply prefer taking tablets, this offers an alternative way to receive the same active ingredient found in Wegovy injections.

Wegovy tablets also have their own dosing schedule and administration requirements. Rather than increasing through injection pen strengths, treatment progresses through four tablet strengths before reaching the maintenance dose. Because the tablet is absorbed through the stomach, it must also be taken on an empty stomach with a small amount of water and separated from food, drinks and other oral medicines for at least 30 minutes.

Once-daily tablet No needles No subscriptions Multipacks where suitable

At Pharmacy Planet, we believe weight loss treatment should be straightforward, flexible and supported by experienced clinicians. There are no subscriptions or long-term tie-ins, allowing you to order when you need to while every prescription continues to be clinically reviewed to ensure your treatment remains appropriate. We also offer multipacks where suitable, making it easier for eligible patients to continue treatment without unnecessary gaps, while still ensuring every prescription is issued based on individual clinical judgement.
