About Dianette Co-Cyprindiol Tablets
Acne is a common skin condition which is often treated by skin creams or antibiotic tablets. You will have been prescribed co-cyprindiol for acne if other treatments have not been sufficiently effective for you.
Co-cyprindiol contains two ingredients, ethinylestradiol and cyproterone. Ethinylestradiol is an oestrogen, which is a female sex hormone. Cyproterone is an anti-androgen. Androgens are responsible for stimulating the glands on your skin which produce an oil (sebum) and they also encourage hair growth. Co-cyprindiol works by reducing the amount of androgen you produce, which helps to clear acne and reduces excess hair growth.
Dianette is a medicine used to treat acne cases resistant to antibiotics. the generic version of Co-Cyprindiol and contains the same active ingredients. In addition to relieving acne, it also reduces excess hair growth, and its hormonal properties offer protection against pregnancy. However, this pill should not be taken exclusively as a contraceptive measure. It is recommended that a barrier contraceptive be added. Dianette is only suitable for women and is sold with a prescription.
Dianette tablets consist of a combination treatment that contains two hormones, cyproterone, and Ethinylestradiol. As a synthetic form of progesterone, cyproterone reduces the number of androgens in the body, thereby lessening its effect on the sebaceous glands. Ethinyl estradiol, an estrogen-derivative, is also supplied in addition to provide hormonal balance. This medication works as a contraceptive pill by being based on the functioning of the female sex hormones and has the side effect of inhibiting ovulation and disabling the uterus for pregnancy.
Dianette tablets are prescribed in case of severe manifestations of acne (accompanied by subcutaneous infections and oily skin) and excessive hair growth in women. This condition can be caused by the action of male hormones. Dianette inhibits the effect of male hormones, greatly reducing or eliminating discomfort. Dianette was also prescribed in the past as a birth control pill.
It is essential to follow your doctor's instructions when taking this medicine. This will help limit the risk of side effects and maximize the effectiveness of the treatment. We advise you to read the package leaflet before using this product. Please note that in addition to treating acne, the hormones in this makes the Dianette tablet act as a contraceptive pill. In addition to taking this as a birth control pill, it is recommended to use a barrier method such as a condom.
