Celiprolol
Celiprolol tablets are prescription-only medicines used by hypertensive patients to reduce their blood pressure levels. It is a cardioselective beta-blocker with partial agonist activity and a slight vasodilator effect. Despite retaining a chemical structure similar to that of other beta-blockers, the presence of the dimethylurea group gives it a series of differential pharmacological characteristics, such as high hydrophilicity, which makes it difficult to access lipid-rich tissues such as the CNS. It helps the heart to consume less energy and prevents pain caused by angina. You can buy Celiprolol tablets online from Pharmacy Planet, one of the leading online pharmacies in the UK.

What is Celiprolol?
Celiprolol is a medicine that belongs to the group of beta-blocker medicines. Beta-blockers block beta receptors that exist in the heart, lungs, and other organs. Blocking beta receptors in the heart decreases the heart's need for oxygen, slows the heart rate (negative chronotropic effect), and decreases the force with which the heart muscle contracts (negative inotropic effect).
How Carvedilol Tablets work?
Celiprolol is a selective blocker of beta-1 adrenergic receptors (cardioselective), which has a mild intrinsic sympathomimetic action (beta-2 agonist activity) and produces a weak alpha-2 receptor block, giving it a certain vasodilatory action peripheral. Celiprolol does not have a stabilizing effect on the membrane.
This medication is hydrophilic and does not cross the meningeal barrier, and does not increase airway resistance.
What are the benefits of taking it?
Celiprolol tablets, being beta-blockers, have been shown to be one of the most useful pharmacological groups in the area of High Blood Pressure Medication (HT) and angina chest. All of them are competitive inhibitors of beta-adrenergic receptors with a chemical structure similar, but exhibit different pharmacological characteristics: selectivity, intrinsic sympathomimetic activity or partial agonist, membrane stabilizing action as well such as lipo or water solubility. Based on these properties, they are currently classified into 4 groups.
One of the latest beta-adrenergic blocking drugs that has been commercialized is celiprolol, which also has a series of differential characteristics that may offer advantages over beta-blockers already existing.
How do I use it and its dosage?
Follow exactly the instructions of administration of the medicine indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.
Celiprolo is administered orally. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablets.
Take the tablets at the same time, preferably in the morning, at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after breakfast. Your doctor will decide how many Celiprolol tablets to take based on your illness.
Adults
In the treatment of high blood pressure, the recommended dose at the start of treatment is 200 mg (one tablet) once a day.
The dose may need to be increased, after a few weeks, to 400 mg (two tablets) or even 600 mg (three tablets) depending on your condition.
Your doctor will decide what is the most appropriate dose.
In the treatment of angina pectoris, the recommended dose is 200-400 mg (one to two tablets) once a day.
In the event that you have hypertension (high blood pressure), your doctor may decide to combine your treatment with other medicines to lower blood pressure (diuretics) and to monitor your blood pressure on a regular basis.
Use in children and adolescents
Celiprolol is not recommended for use in children or adolescents.
Use in elderly patients
Normally you will not need a different dose than that recommended for other patients. However, your doctor may carry out regular check-ups to assess the function of your kidney and liver
Side effects & precautions

What are the contraindications for Celiprolol?
Celiprolol is not recommended for patients having problems with the functioning of the kidneys. If the kidneys are not filtering waste properly (i.e. clearance of creatinine is less than 15), then intake of medication could build up in their body and cause dangerous side effects. Therefore, a healthcare professional may adjust the dosage to ensure it is safe for you.
Similarly, patients with liver impairment should be carefully monitored and given lower dosages if any side effects occur. This medication is not recommended for children. Also, avoid taking Celiprolol if you:
- are allergic to any of the ingredients in Celiprolol
- have a severe heart condition, such as cardiogenic shock or heart failure
- have severe sinus bradycardia
Is Celiprolol effective for anxiety?
In a clinical study, Celiprolol has shown a positive impact on anxiety, especially in patients with mitral valve prolapse syndrome. It decreased the symptoms caused by panic and anxiety and also improved the function of the heart and blood vessels in these patients. Hence, Celiprolol appears to be effective in helping reduce anxiety symptoms.

Celiprolol may interact with alcohol and can increase the risk of low blood pressure. As a result, you may get dizziness, fainting, etc. Taking it with food may reduce the effectiveness of the medication; therefore, it is best taken on an empty stomach. You must avoid taking it along with citrus fruit juices such as orange and lemon, as they can increase the absorption of Celiprolol Hydrochloride, thereby raising the risk of side effects.
Celiprolol Hydrochloride should be taken on an empty stomach or at least one to two hours before meals. This helps maximise absorption and ensures the full effectiveness of the medication. You should take Celiprolol at the same time every day to avoid missing any doses. Also, do not take an extra dose if you forget your regular one, as overdosing may result in serious health complications.
Celectol is the brand name of the drug Celiprolol Hydrochloride. Both Celectol and Celiprolol (generic) are available in the UK. Both contain the same active ingredients and produce similar effects in treating high blood pressure. The only difference is the prices; Celiprolol (generic) can be purchased at a cheaper price.
In adults, the recommended starting dose for Celiprolol Hydrochloride is 200 mg, and it must be taken once daily. After two to four weeks, you must consult your healthcare provider, who may prescribe the next dosage of 400 mg if the blood pressure levels are still high. The maximum dose is 400 mg, which needs to be taken regularly as prescribed.
If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional before using this medication, as it may cause side effects. Using Celiprolol during breastfeeding may result in a slowed heart rate, heart failure, or difficulty in breathing. Therefore, close monitoring of the newborn for the first five days after birth is important.
