About Salamol Inhaler

Salamol Easi-Breathe is a breath-actuated inhaler. The active ingredient, salbutamol, provides effective short-term relief from the symptoms of asthma. Salbutamol is also effective at preventing asthma symptoms from occurring after exercise. Salamol Easi-Breathe inhalers are fast-acting and long-lasting. After administration, breathing difficulties should ease within five minutes, with the effects lasting for up to six hours.

Salamol Easi-Breathe is a breath-actuated inhaler, which means that the medicine is released automatically. This may be preferable to other standard inhalers, which require that you correctly time your inhalation with manual activation of the device. For those who have been previously diagnosed with asthma by their GP, repeat supplies of Salamol Easi-Breathe can be bought from our Online Prescription service, following a free online consultation.

People also ask

What is the Salamol Inhaler?

Salamol (Salbutamol) belongs to a group of medicines called bronchodilators that work by relaxing the muscles in the walls of the small air passages in the lungs. Facilitates breathing and relieves cough.

How does Salamol Inhaler work?

The Salamol 100 mcg inhaler contains salbutamol, a beta-2-agonist, and a bronchodilator that acts directly on the small airways of the lungs (bronchioles). The contraction of the smooth muscle bands surrounding the small bronchiole tubes causes the narrowing of the airways in response to an asthma trigger. Salbutamol in the Salamol inhaler binds to beta 2 receptors in smooth muscle, causing the muscle to relax and the airways to widen (bronchodilation).

This reduces bronchospasm (contraction or the airways) and allows the airways to open, making breathing easier and eliminating asthma symptoms such as chest tightness, wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. Salbutamol in the Salamol inhaler is a fast-acting bronchodilator, but it has a short-acting action, lasting 4 to 6 hours, and is used as relief medication for severe asthma, administered to the lungs as an aerosol with each performance (inhalation).

What are the benefits of using Salamol Inhaler?

Salamol Inhaler uses include being  indicated in:

Symptomatic treatment of bronchospasm (closure of air passages in the lungs) in bronchial asthma and in other processes associated with reversible airway obstruction. These are a group of lung diseases that cause inflammation of the airways causing a blockage in the airflow in the lungs.

Prevention of bronchospasm (closure of air passages in the lungs) induced by physical exercise or before exposure to a known and unavoidable allergenic stimulus (a substance capable of producing an allergic reaction).

How do I use Salamol Inhaler and its dosage?

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.

Salamol 100 micrograms are administered by inhalation.

Adults:

To alleviate acute bronchospasm and treat intermittent episodes of asthma, one inhalation may be administered as a single dose and may be increased to two inhalations as necessary. If the response is inadequate, doses greater than two inhalations can be used. The maximum recommended dose is two inhalations, three or four times a day.

To prevent bronchospasm induced by physical exercise, one or two inhalations should be administered 15 minutes before it.

One or two inhalations can be administered before an anticipated contact with allergens.

Use in over 65/80 years:

The same recommendations for adults.

Use in children and adolescents:

The recommended dose to relieve acute bronchospasm in the treatment of episodic asthma or to prevent exercise-induced asthma is one inhalation. If the response is inadequate, doses greater than one inhalation may be administered.

Instructions for the correct administration of the preparation:

  1. Remove the cover. If it is a new inhaler or it has not been used for several days, shake the aerosol and press to ensure the proper functioning of the inhaler. If the inhaler is used regularly go to the following instructions:
  2. Shake the inhaler.
  3. Remove as much air as possible from your lungs.
  4. Adapt the spray to your mouth according to the position indicated in the drawing.
  5. Take a deep breath as possible.
  6. Remove the spray from your mouth and try to retain the air in your lungs for a few seconds.
  7. The oral aerosol push-button adapter should be washed regularly. To do this, remove the button from the spray and rinse it with plenty of water.
  8. Store with the lid on and to protect it from dust and dirt.
