Premique Low Dose

Premique is a hormonal drug. The drug is used as part of hormonal therapies in women. The active ingredients in Premique are estradiol (an estrogen hormone) and medroxyprogesterone (a progestin hormone). The former complement the lack of estrogens, helping to reduce the symptoms of menopause. The latter, medroxyprogesterone acetate. For women who have not had a hysterectomy, increased estrogen levels can stimulate the growth of the uterine lining, which can cause uterine cancer. The inclusion of progesterone is done to counteract the effects of estrogen on the uterine lining, which reduces the risk of cancer.

What is Premique?

Premique is a hormonal drug. The drug is used as part of hormonal therapies in women. The active ingredients in Premique are estradiol (an estrogen hormone) and medroxyprogesterone (a progestin hormone). Lack of estrogen arises when, in the course of menopause, the ovaries produce fewer and fewer estrogen hormones. As a result, uncomfortable complaints often occur. Premique refreshes the hormonal balance, making the symptoms decrease or disappear completely. This medication is only available by prescription.

How does it work?

As menopause occurs, women begin to produce less estrogen, resulting in a decrease in estrogen levels in the blood. As a result, the decrease in estrogen levels produces several uncomfortable symptoms. Premique is a period less therapy, which means that you will not experience monthly bleeding with this treatment.

The benefits of Premique are thanks to the components it contains, two active ingredients, conjugated estrogens, which complement the lack of estrogens, helping to reduce the symptoms of menopause. The second principle is medroxyprogesterone acetate. For women who have not had a hysterectomy, increased estrogen levels can stimulate the growth of the uterine lining, which can cause uterine cancer. The inclusion of progesterone is done to counteract the effects of estrogen on the uterine lining, which reduces the risk of cancer.

What are the benefits of taking it?

Premique tablets for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT for women), it is a continuous combination of treatments, and are used to alleviate menopausal symptoms. They contain synthetic versions of estrogens and progesterone, which help restore naturally lowered hormone levels. Premique is prescribed, among other things, for the treatment of the following menopausal symptoms:

  • Hot flushes
  • An increased level of sweat (night)
  • Bone loss
  • Sleep disorders
  • Dry mucous membranes (in eyes and vagina)
  • Humor changes.

The progestin hormone contained in Premique (Climopax) protects the uterus from side effects. Therefore, this drug is mainly prescribed to women whose uterus has not been removed.

How do I use it?

The tablets should be taken with a little water at a fixed time. This can be done before, during, or after meals. The tablets are arranged on a blister strip with dates. If a blister strip is used, continue with a new blister strip. There is no 7-day break when using Premique. There is also no bleeding when using Premique. Do not use Premique for more than two years in a row without first consulting your doctor.

Its dosage

Premique is generally prescribed in the lowest dose for the shortest period of time, in a 28-day package. For both Premique dosages, it is recommended to take one tablet at the same time every day, with no breaks between packages. If you are not currently taking another HRT or HRT with no period, you can start the first Premique pack at any time. If you are using a treatment that allows you to have periods, it is generally recommended that you start this HRT after the cycle of your previous therapy ends.

It is important that you take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. If you forget to take a pill, you should take it as soon as possible. However, if more than 12 hours pass, it is recommended to skip the dose and continue treatment at the usual time. Do not double the dose to make up for the forgotten pill.
