Many patients have a mobile lifestyle and occupy multiple homes throughout the world. This could be for work or because of lifestyle. Most healthcare environments have struggled to keep pace with the changing habits of a globalised population. This has resulted in severe difficulties for some patients to obtain their medicines.
What are the difficulties for these patients?
Many patients start medications within their home country and realise that the medication is unavailable when they go to another country. A popular example of this is Wegovy for weight loss (Same medicine as Ozempic). Wegovy is a brand of revolutionary new weight loss products that have had significant supply issues. As these patients are often quite mobile, they do not have to register with multiple doctors each time they are in a different country.
What if I am an international patient in the UK?
We also cater for patients who are from abroad and have come to the UK to live or work. They are often not set up with a GP or are having difficulty in the continuation of treatment. Pharmacy Planet can offer instant access to medicines and medical advice so that there is no disruption in treatment. Again, we have many patients from Switzerland who work in the UK. They need continuity of treatment and therefore we can ensure that they get their medication when they need it.
What information do I need to provide to Pharmacy Planet to obtain my prescription medicine?
The process we follow is the same irrelevant of where a patient is based. As a registered UK healthcare provider, we have to ensure that the medicine we supply is appropriate for use by the patient. The information we require can vary by medicine. For example, for patients who require blood pressure medicine, we must ensure that they have regular blood tests and are under the care of a regular physician (home GP or doctor).
Can you deliver to any address?
Patients must be sure that they can receive the medication in the destination country. Each country is different and has differing requirements. Most countries allow for medications that are not readily available and must be sourced from elsewhere. Alternatively, we deliver to the patient's UK address, and they take this medicine on their person when they travel.
